"What was striking about Lisa’s presentation, and what set her apart from other speakers I’ve heard over the years, was the emotional impact she had on her audience. The mostly student attendees hung on her words, understanding fully what she was talking about, as she listed the painful losses and her family’s style of dealing with feelings and secrets, which contributed to her disordered eating behaviors. This presentation led me to believe that this is Lisa’s calling – she has a knack for public speaking, the empathy needed for college audiences, and the sense of humor and accessibility which creates a comfortable zone for students to discuss difficult and emotional issues."

"Lisa is a high-energy, engaging speaker whose impact was
great enough to keep most of the students at the presentation for up to 20
minutes after her talk was through. The presentation is clinically accurate, but
also adds important psychological motivations behind emotional eating that made
for a very satisfying talk. Lisa’s personal experience as a compulsive overeater
is powerful and moving. Afterward, students requested more programs like the one
that she gave. Staff members who attended were also impressed with the event."

"Thank you very much for your fantastic presentation. The feedback has been very positive; students remarked how refreshing it was to hear someone's story, rather than facts and stats about eating disorders. I think that the impact of your presentation will be felt here for a long time."
